Accident Investigation
Tiredness and fatigue are recognised as major causes of accidents in the workplace. Shift workers and those working extended hours are particularly at risk from accidents due to the disruption in their circadian rhythms and accumulated sleep debt caused by working unsocial hours. Fatigue is sometimes left out of the investigation of an accident, or if it is included it often receives only a rudimentary analysis.
We provide a specialised accident investigation service which focuses on fatigue and tiredness issues. We will work with your accident investigation team to advise on what information they require in order to ascertain the extent to which fatigue was a contributory factor.
We can:
- Provide an independent and objective accident investigation service focusing on fatigue issues
- Identify what information is required to eliminate or confirm fatigue as a factor in an accident
- Train accident and incident investigators to identify the role of fatigue
- Review an organisations accident investigation process with regard to the role of fatigue.
